Protein Bars: The Search Continues Plus Favorites

This past year I was on a quest for the perfect protein bar, which is no small feat. It’s also 100% subjective. Do you care about added sugar vs total sugar? Carbs? Fiber? Calories? Clean ingredients? It’s give and take to find your perfect bar for what you want, whether it be pre or post workout, a quick weekday breakfast or a filling snack.

CURRENT FAVORITES

  • RXBar: Blueberry
  • RXBAR: Peanut Butter Chocolate
  • RXBAR: Chocolate Sea Salt
  • Nature Valley Protein: Blueberry Nut

COMPARISON

Below I’ve compared my current favorites with some new ones I’ve tried.

After my neighbor saw my first blog about protein bars she said I had to try Perfect Bar. She was even kind enough to drop a few off on my porch for me to try. Talk about a strong recommendation! They are definitely more filling (and more of everything) than the others and taste yummy. Clean ingredients and so fresh you keep them in the refrigerator. I’ll definitely try them again!

**I’ve been seeing collagen products all over so I had to try this Bulletproof bar with collagen. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough was pretty tasty. The bar had a different texture and consistency than a lot of others I’ve had. It’s marked as “Keto Friendly” and only noted cashews, no other nuts.

(All of the nut ingredients so common in protein bars can make it hard to find a safe option for anyone with peanut and/or tree nut allergies.)

OTHERS TO TRY

I have yet to try Go Macro bars and Oatmega bars. Both of these were recommended to me by other protein bar enthusiasts. I’ll have to get my hands on them and report back. The quest is on going!
